Meta Physica Massage & Sauna won $50,000 in the 2016 Hatch Detroit contest among four finalists at the Hatch Off event Friday night.
Comerica Bank sponsors the prize in the new-business competition presented by Opportunity Detroit.
More than 150 entrepreneurs entered the contest, now in its sixth year.
Owners Jenaveve Biernat and Anahí Hollis plan to open a spa offering therapeutic bodywork, infrared sauna, a raw juice bar, an herbal apothecary, among other products and services.
Besides the $50,000 prize, Meta Physica will receive more than $200,000 in pro bono services and a $25,000 branding and design package from GTB, formerly Team Detroit; a 30-second social media advertisement from MCCI; legal services from Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn; architectural renderings from Hamilton Anderson Associates; and a package of accounting, IT, public relations support, and counsel from Hatch Detroit and its partners.
